The beginnings

During my study trip to Brazil, I was fascinated by the vast sugar cane plantations. During a visit to a sugar production factory, I discovered how abundant the waste linked to the production of sugar and rum was. Back in France, and as a regular at bars and restaurants, I noticed the void left by the ban on plastic straws: no alternative offered both satisfaction to consumers and practicality to restaurateurs. This is where the idea for Straws-Berry started to come.

Research and prototyping

I started to find out about the market for disposable tableware and straws, to contact suppliers, to speak with quite a few French laboratories to develop the perfect recipe. After numerous tests and more than ten prototypes, I developed an ecological and functional straw made from sugar cane fibers.

The first sales

After refining my prototype and being convinced of its potential, I invested all my savings in producing a first order of straws, and I started making my first sales. Faced with this enthusiasm, I put my studies on hold to devote myself entirely to Straws-Berry, traveling all over Paris to canvass businesses.

Development & Growth

As I grew up, I began creating the Straws-Berry website, networks and recruited my first employee to assist me in all my tasks. Thanks to her, I was able to delegate a lot of missions and devote myself to others, to develop Straws-Berry. We have also marketed our products in Europe and North Africa, responding to growing demand for our straws.

The team is growing!

Straws-Berry has grown quite a bit, and new ones have arrived! First of all, Shams arrived as a partner, an engineer who takes care of R&D, strategy, financing, the legal side, logistics and many other things!

Then, Marwan who joined us at the same time as marketing manager who takes care of all the marketing strategy and all digital aspects of Straws-Berry.

Straws-Berry in hypergrowth

We have succeeded in developing the most pleasant straw on the market and at the best price. We are deployed throughout Europe with already several regular customers. Supported by the BPI, by French laboratories and equipped with numerous certifications, Straws-Berry is starting to improve its reputation among professionals.

The objective is always to offer the best straw on the market at the best quality/price ratio.

Today, our small team of around twenty employees is here to listen to you, as passionate and committed as ever to making responsible consumption easy and accessible. At Straws-Berry, we continue to look for ways to improve our straws and reduce our ecological impact. Our ambition is clear: to become an undisputed European leader in the sector of sustainable alternatives to disposable products.
